 The Bulletin 5302-MBP-MCM4 is a 15-bit encoder featuring a hybrid digital/analog interface, transmitting sine/cosine signals via analog channels for incremental feedback and delivering absolute position information through the digital RS-485 channel. A single 842HR delivers control and relevant data feedback for servo drives by converting the angle information into an electrical signal for speed regulation, commutation and positioning. Plus, it delivers this information over just 8 wires for simple connection to today’s Hiperface® enabled systems. The electrical and mechanical characteristics of these encoders increase system speeds and accuracy, decrease cycle times, and boost overall productivity in the manufacturing environment.To expand the depth and breadth of 5302-MBP-MCM4 our current encoder offering, Rockwell Automation is proud to introduce the Allen-Bradley® 847 Incremental Optical Encoder family. Equipped with a robust mechanical design and the latest metal code disk technology, these encoders have a rugged bearing system that is built to withstand shock, vibration and a wide range of operating temperatures. The 847 family is available in six models and offered in 2- and 2.5-inch housings with flange, hollow shaft and blind hollow shaft options. With high integer resolutions from 1 to 65,536 counts per revolution, the 847 family offers accurate positioning for applications that require exact precision. They are 5302-MBP-MCM4 also backward compatible with our 844A, 844B and 845 incremental encoders and offer M12, MS and flying-lead connection options.For the open thermocouple channel to saturate without disturbing the measurements on any other channel, use an interchannel delay of 200 µs at a gain of 100 or higher, which corresponds to a 5302-MBP-MCM4sample rate of 5 kHz. After installing the 10 Ω bias resistors, you can accurately measure at the maximum sampling rate of the module. The open thermocouple channel may not saturate if the interchannel delay is less than 200 µs or if the sample rate is more than 5 kHz at a gain of 100 or higher. If you want fast open thermocouple detection and you have short thermocouple leads, or if high accuracy is not important, you can replace the pull-up resistors with a lower value resistor network.
