The AUTOMATIONX AXLINK100 892.202988 Network connector is a device used to connect different AutomationX modules to form a communication network. It provides a high-speed serial communication interface for the modules, enabling them to exchange data and synchronize with each other. The AXLINK100 uses a standard RS-485 interface and supports a maximum communication rate of 12 Mbps. The connector has a robust construction and is designed to withstand harsh industrial environments. It also features an LED indicator that provides status information about the communication network. The use of Remote racks requires a special consideration pertaining to scan time. In order to
operate at long distances, the I/O Bus runs at a lower clock speed (compared to that used for
Expansion racks) when communicating with Remote racks, which will have an impact on
performance. The impact will be relatively small for discrete I/O and slightly more for other
modules, such as the High Speed Counter or Genius Communications Module. The increase in
time needed to communicate with modules in a remote baseplate will usually be small with
