The E3ES digital input module is a digital quantity module used to connect external mechanical contacts and electronic digital sensors, such as photoelectric switches and proximity switches. The digital input module converts the external digital signal level of the field to the internal signal level of the PLC. A digital quantity is a signal type composed of 0 and 1, usually a coded regular signal. For switching values, contact closure can be considered as 1, and contact opening can be considered as 0. The digital quantity module can convert the switching quantity into digital signal acquisition. EM DE08 is a digital input expansion module with 8 channels and supports both source and drain input modes. EM DE16 is another digital input expansion module with 16 channels, and also supports source and drain input modes. [2][4]
